  • How to Choose the Perfect Pair of Motorcycle Sunglasses

    motorcycle sunglasses

Motorcycle sunglasses can be crucial when you're out on the road.

It's something of a given that those straddling a two-wheeled, gas-powered dream machine with their head exposed to the elements might want to make sure they can maintain their visual connection with the road ahead.

Everyone has been behind another vehicle when it's thrown a rock at their windshield, right? And no one really appreciates getting a fly to the eye at 65 mph. So for those who also desire protection from the sun, choosing motorcycle sunglasses can be an important – and even vital -- part of the safety system for their bike riding adventures.

  • How to Find the Best Sports Sunglasses with Interchangeable Lenses

    interchangeable lenses

If you're into outdoor sports -- whether that means running, golf, water sports, mountain
biking or spending time on the snow -- you know that having the right pair of sports sunglasses for the conditions you’re in can make a huge difference to your overall performance.

It goes without saying that having to deal with bright sunlight or overcast conditions can play a major role in how well you perform. If your environment is too bright or too dark, you’re simply not going to be at your best.

Unfortunately, having half a dozen pairs of sunglasses on hand isn't only a hassle, it’s also expensive — especially where high-quality sunglasses are concerned. That’s why owning a great pair of sports sunglasses with interchangeable lenses makes so much sense.

  • Do You Really Need Basketball Glasses?

    basketball glasses

If you don't have perfect vision and you play sports — basketball specifically — then you’ve probably considered using basketball glasses. But do you really need them? The short answer to that question: Probably.

But first, let's explore why you need glasses specific for your sport, such as basketball glasses, and where you can find the very best pair.

    They Improve Your Eyesight

Being able to react to a movement a split second faster — not to mention being able to more accurately determine the distance of the basket you’re shooting for – can dramatically enhance your game. The basketball glasses offered by Liberty Sport, which are engineered to handle any eyeglasses prescription, can help you do just that.

In addition to helping you see better, basketball glasses also greatly improve your general safety and overall performance.

  • Understanding UV Protection

If you’re like most active Americans, you probably remember to slather on sunscreen before you leave the house, provided it’s especially sunny outside. But isn’t your vision just as important as your skin? We certainly think so.

After all, the sun contains harmful UV rays that can cause serious, permanent damage to your eyesight. If you spend time outdoors without proper eye protection, you could easily suffer from photokeratitis (burnt cornea), pingueculae (a non-cancerous growth on the cornea), cataracts, or macular degeneration.

UV protectionDo your eyes an enormous favor: Protect them with a pair of recreational sunglasses that offer 100 percent UVA and UVB protection. It’s an incredibly wise investment that’ll give you the peace of mind you deserve.

  • Safety First: Sports Eye Injuries

Will Your Child Be The Next Statistic?

By Dr. Paul Berman O.D., F.A.A.O.

    Understanding The Risks
The results of a 2001 study by Prevent Blindness America show over 38,000 people experienced sports eye injuries and needed emergency room treatment and, in some cases, even further attention. Some of the highest rates of sports eye injuries occur in children between the ages of 5 to 14. It’s also important to remember that even if an eye injury seems to be minor it may be serious. Loss of vision, severe pain or tenderness and cuts around the eye require immediate medical attention.

  • Check your Eye-Q: Sports Eyewear FAQ

    Question 1

    • Myth: Wearing everyday street eyewear or fashion sunwear while participating in sports minimizes the potential for eye injury.
    • Fact: Regular prescription eyeglasses and fashion sunwear do not provide adequate protection and are not held to the same performance standards as sports eyewear labeled for protective use-such as Rec Specs. The lens in your child’s frames could pop out and puncture or cut the eye or the frame itself could cause an injury.
